Dr. Waleed A. Salameh

He has authored over 200 professional articles and presentations as well as 16 invited book chapters in the areas of humor and its applications to clinical interventions and effective communications.

He is co(©)editor (with William F. Fry, Jr., M.D.) of the groundbreaking volumes: "Handbook of Humor and Psychotherapy" (1987) and "Advances in Humor and Psychotherapy" (1993). His third edited volume in collaboration with Dr. W.F. Fry "Humor and Wellness in Clinical Intervention" will be forthcoming in 2000.

His work has been widely translated and has appeared in Psychology Today, Science News, Newsweek Japan as well as in newspaper and magazine feature articles.

He is the Director of the Humor and Health Institute and publisher of the Humor and Health Journal.

For the past several years, Dr. Salameh has been a dynamic contributor to the field of humor and its constructive applications. He has conducted humor creation and development training programs for mental health settings, professional organizations, and corporations.

He has served as a consulting editor to the interdisciplinary research journal Humor from 1988 to 1994. In 1985, he was awarded the Milton H. Erikson Institute of San Diego Award in recognition of his contributions to the field of strategic interventions.

His Humor Immersion Training (HIT) is internationally recognized as an effective and systematic training approach to humor creation and the development of humor skills. This workshop will allow all participants to have firsthand exposure and humorous participation in the Humor Immersion Training (HIT) approach.
